Congratulations on a very successful summit

3rd Annual Anti-Bullying – Gay,Straight Alliance Summit

This year’s summit is open to all Delaware public and private middle and high school students, parents, administrators, counselors, teachers and wellness center staff. There is no limit on the number of attendees - we hope that each GSA will send at least five students! New this year - we are providing four buses to transport students to the Summit from all over the state.

To register for the summit click on this link prior to October 10, 2014 and please select a bus pick up site if you need transportation. Parent/Guardian Permission for Filed Trip must be signed if you are planning to take one of the buses – pickup times are on this form. www.bit.ly/GSASummit2014

● The day will begin with registration and continental breakfast from 8:00 to 8:30AM

● Everyone will view a MTV documentary – It Gets Better Part 2 – taking an in-depth look at the coming-out-process.

● New this year will be an Intersectional Identity Activity for adults and teens.

● Albert Snyder (Snyder v. Phelps) will be our guess speaker.

● GSA members are offered a series of workshops to choose from around creating and sustaining their GSA.

● GSA presidents from all over the state will have lunch together to get acquainted.

● GSA advisors and mentors will come together to share experiences and network.

● GSA members, advisors and mentors will come together to beginning planning for their 2014/15 activities.

Delaware welcomes New Jersey into marriage equality. 1st ceremonies started 10/21/13. And on 11/5/13, Illinois joined in marriage equality for all!! AND, Aloha from Hawaii who will start marriage ceremonies as soon as 12/2/13. That now makes it 16 states plus Washington DC for a total of 17, who recognize marriage equality.

Thanks to everyone involved in our 20th Anniversary Celebration. The Silent Auction was very successful and we had more snacks/hors d'oeuvres & non-alcoholic beverages then was needed. THANKS to all who brought goodies. The small singing group from The Rainbow Chorale of Delaware turned out to be the WHOLE GROUP with piano accompaniment. >>What a surprise that was! Again Silent Auction items were donated by Candlelight Theatre; Goretex Jacket & all weather hat by W.L. Gore; The Rainbow Chorale Of Delaware Tickets; Catherine Rooney's; Wilmington Drama League; Blue Parrott; Tastefully Simple; Toscana's Sunday Brunch in Trolley Square; Tickets to the Dickinson Theatre Organ Society concert; Papa's Pastry Shop Certificate; Pasta Celebration Basket; Starbucks Gift Basket; Harry's Seafood Grill; Crabby Dick's Restaurant & Coffee table picture books. 4/14/11 7:18 pm...Senate Bill #30 The Delaware Civil Unions Bill was passed!!!. Gov. Markett signed the bill on May 11, 2011 during an event held at the World Cafe Live at the Queen. Over 600 people attended this joyous occasion. Civil Unions will take effect 1/1/12. Thanks to everyone who helped to make this possible.

5/1/11 Thank you HAVEN the U of D LGBT organization for allowing us to make a presentation during their parents & friends meeting. Nearly 50 people were in attendance. A truly amazing event.
