Welcome to PFLAG Wilmington Delaware

PFLAG is the extended family of the LGBTQ+ community.  We are LGBTQ+ individuals, family members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community.

Vision: PFLAG envisions a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed inclusive of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.

Mission: By meeting people where they are and collaborating with others, PFLAG realizes its vision through: Support for families, allies and people who are LGBTQ+; Education for ourselves and others about the unique issues and challenges facing people who are LGBTQ+; and Advocacy in our communities to change attitudes and create policies and laws that achieve full equality for people who are LGBTQ+.

Support Group Meetings: We meet to provide support and information on the 2nd Thursday of every month from 6:30 - 8:00 PM.  Prior to COVID, we met at Westminster Presbyterian Church (13th and Rodney Street/1502 West 13th Street, Wilmington, DE 19806).  But for the time being, our meetings are all being held using the Zoom virtual meeting technology.   To register for the meeting, click here(If you need help setting up Zoom, click here or  email us at PFLAGwilmde@att.net with a request for help and someone will get back to you.)

Key "Partner" Groups:

PTK (Parents of Trans Kids) DELAWARE.  PTK offers support group meetings for parents/caregivers of transgender and gender-expansive children.  In addition, they provide gender identity and expression support, advocacy and education to our community.  Support group meetings are both virtual (Zoom) and in-person.  For additional details click here.

PTK Youth Group.  This informal monthly peer support and social gathering was designed by the coordinators of PTK (Parents of Trans Kids) to provide a safe space for youth who are transgender or gender diverse to connect, express, and ask questions of one another and their mentor.  Youth between the ages of 10-21 are welcome to attend; exceptions made when youth outside those age parameters are interested and would benefit. Currently, meetings are held remotely and moderated by a licensed psychotherapist and former educator. Contact PTKDelaware@gmail.com for information about the parent group and contact maggiedmccool@gmail.com with questions about youth meetings.

Zoom sessions held 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 - 8:15PM
